During the academic year 2024–25, JAAGRITI – The Enabling Unit actively organised a series of events aimed at promoting inclusivity, awareness, and empowerment of specially-abled individuals.

The year commenced with Safar 4.0, an inspiring interview series where renowned personalities shared their life journeys.

To spread awareness about the lives and struggles of persons with disabilities, World Disability Day was marked with a special movie screening in collaboration with ICSSR. The initiative highlighted resilience and promoted empathy among participants. Similarly, International White Cane Day was observed through awareness activities, sensitising students about the importance of the white cane and the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals.

In line with its commitment to empowerment, JAAGRITI also organised a Job Fair exclusively designed for specially-abled youth. The fair provided direct interaction with employers, helping participants explore meaningful career opportunities and enhancing their employability.

Another significant initiative was Walk a Mile in My Shoe, an awareness activity aimed at breaking barriers between disabled and non-disabled individuals. The programme introduced students to sign language and also spread awareness about Alzheimer’s Day, thereby encouraging empathy and inclusive communication.

The society’s annual flagship fest, Saharsri’25, witnessed enthusiastic participation and provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their talents. Events such as talent hunt, debate, poetry, quiz, and chess reflected creativity, intellectual ability, and the spirit of inclusivity.
