Studying B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science would not just provide students the requisite background and knowledge for a successful career in IT but also a base for the ones who want to pursue further studies in the field. There are various IT related avenues which can be explored by computer science graduates ranging from web, software, hardware, animation and multimedia, database, computer security and others. A number of our students go on to pursue Masters in the field (MCA /MSc. Computer Science/ MS) from various reputed institutions both in India and abroad.

Support for your career

The Department regularly conducts various informative workshops and sessions on new and upcoming technologies. These workshops are conducted with the aim to expose our students "beyond the curriculum". Some of the recently conducted workshops include "Machine Learning", "Cybersecurity and Hacking", "Big Data" and many others. Moreover, various sessions are provided to groom students for interviews and group discussions for their career interviews.

Campus Recruitment

In order to offer jobs and internships a number of companies visit the campus or call our students for interviews. Some of the renowned ones include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, WIPRO, NIIT, KPMG Global Services, SAP, Byju's, Deloitte USI, Amazon, Sapster IT Company India Pvt. Ltd. and others. The annual package offered at graduate level varies from 3-7 Lakhs per annum.

Job profiles offered

The placement cell at SGGSCC is very active and ensures that students are provided with various job and training opportunities. Some of the Job Profiles offered to B.Sc. Computer Science students are Computer Science Associate Analyst, Content Developer, Computer Science Programmer, Associate Software Developer, Data Associate, Process Executive, Business Process Services and Software Tester amongst many others. Apart from these, the students can get absorbed in various other profiles including ones related to hardware such as hardware engineer, chip designer, animation and multimedia profiles such as multimedia artist or animator, software profile jobs such as system programmer, software engineer, software architect or other profiles like web designer, database administrator, network administrator, IT security specialist or mobile application developer.
